Emerald is the gemstone of Mercury, found only in shades of green and it has to
be worn according to the position of The Mercury in one's horoscope.
It is found in
Bhugra Ghati, Udaipur and Bhilwara in Rajasthan and Panna district of Madhya
Pradesh and in Brazil, Columbia, Madagascar, Egypt, South Africa, Zambia,
Zimbabwe and Siberia. The best quality emerald is found in the Murara Ghati in
Rajasthan.
Test :
When kept in water in a transparent glass, green rays are emitted. When it is
kept on a white piece of cloth that portion of the cloth turns green.
How to wear :
Barring Adhimas, Malmas,
Kharmas
and Pitrapaksh period, it can be worn in a ring made of any metal on a Wednesday having Hasth, Jyeshta and
Revati Nakshatra. Its weight should not be less than 5 ratti (carat) and it should be
worn on the little finger of the right hand.
